Movie Review: Night At the Museum – Battle of the Smithsonian

My Rating: 3Stars

This afternoon I saw the movie Night At the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian at AMC Theater, Pacific Place, Admiralty, Hong Kong. Another one of the movies from my Must See Movies list.

It was a typical performance by Ben Stiller that was nothing special. On the other hand his supporting casts were quite impressive, namely Hank Azaria, Amy Adams and Ricky Gervais. With Azaria carrying most of the movie by playing 3 characters.

I enjoyed Stiller in the Meet the Parents franchise, first with Meet the Parents then Meet the Fockers and expect to enjoy Little Fockers in 2011. The other movies Stiller in were not that great and I have concluded that Robert De Niro was the one who carried the Meet the Parents franchise to its success.

This latest movie further supports my hypothesis and I will now question any future decisions to add more Stiller movies to my Must See Movies list. Of course that will not stop me from adding these upcoming movies due to the other actors.

If you’re looking for a mindless entertainment and had no other choices at the theater they can be your choice, but like my ratings legend suggest, you should get this movie off iTunes.

Rating Legend:
