Joke: Life Lesson 4

Story

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing.

A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, “Can I also sit like you and do nothing?” The eagle answered: “Sure, why not.”

So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested. All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Joke: Life Lesson 3

Story

A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp.

They rub it and a Genie comes out. The Genie says, “I’ll give each of you just one wish.”

“Me first! Me first!” says the admin clerk. “I want to be in the Bahamas, driving a speedboat, without a care in the world.” Puff! She’s gone.

“Me next! Me next!” says the sales rep. “I want to be in Hawaii , relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life. “Puff! He’s gone.”

Ok, you’re up,” the Genie says to the manager. The manager says, “I want those two back in the office after lunch.”

Joke: Life Lesson 2

Story

A priest offered a Nun a lift. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident.

After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg. The nun said, “Father, remember Psalm 129?” The priest removed his hand. But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again.

The nun once again said, “Father, remember Psalm 129?” The priest apologized “Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.”

Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way.

On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129. It said, “Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory.”

Joke: Life Lesson 1

Story

A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings. The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs.

When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbor. Before she says a word, Bob says, “I’ll give you $800 to drop that towel.” After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob, after a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves.

The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs. When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, “Who was that?” “It was Bob the next door neighbor,” she replies.

“Great,” the husband says, “did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?”

Movie Review: Hellboy 2 – the Golden Army

Poster

My Rating: 4Stars

This evening I saw the movie “Hellboy 2” at AMC Theater, Pacific Place, Admiralty, Hong Kong.

I did not go watch Hellboy, the first episode in this franchise, at the cinema, but caught it on HBO. I did not find the first movie that interesting, so I did not put this sequel in my Must See Movies list.

Recently many of my friends gave it rave reviews after watching the latest episode in the franchise; as did RT, so it made me question my decision for not wanting to see this movie.

Tonight I was presently surprised by the movie. As with all sequels, it is always hard to balance the need to provide just enough background store for the audiences and keep the fans interested. Especially when the previous episode was four years ago. I think the director (screenplay and writer), Guillermo del Toro achieved that very well.

Another thing they did correctly, was to keep the main casts from the first episode, giving the movie a continuum that is much needed for sequels. Ron Perlman again played the adult Hellboy, Selma Blair played Liz Sherman, both Doug Jones and Brian Steele were chameleons of characters.

The special effect was done very well, it shows what four years of technology advancements in CG can do for a movie. The CG seamlessly integrated with the live action of the movie. There were many background characters and details in the sets and costumes, giving the audience much eye candy other than the story. There were one scene which reminded me of the bar in Star Wars (Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope).

The story had the feel of Fantastic Four the magic of Harry Potter the mystery of Indiana Jones and National Treasure. Overall a very enjoyable movie to bring the kids to.

This evening I saw the movie “Walle” at AMC Theater, Pacific Place, Admiralty, Hong Kong.

Again Pixar did not disappoint.

Pixar’s typical smart intelligent humor was prevalent throughout the movie. After several minutes into the movie the audiences has forgotten it’s an animation, understood the background of the story, and all without a single word being spoken.

Without much dialogue the director, Andrew Stanton (who in this case was also the writer) was able to capture the audiences’ attention while delivering an intriguing and timely story about the importance of taking care of our environment and planet.

I always like Pixar movies: Toy StoryA Bug’s LifeToy Story 2Monsters, Inc.Finding NemoThe IncrediblesCars and Ratatouille. and this one was no exception. They always contain what I call smart-humor, where the audiences would need to give it some thought to realize how funny a particular dialogue or scene was. They often made me want to watch the movie again to catch all the things I missed the first time.

I am glad to have placed this on my Must See Movies list and definitely one not to be missed for fans of Pixar Animation Studio.

Finally, for those Macintosh fans among us, the animators at Pixar left us an easter egg. See if you catch it in the movie as I did?
